Discover the story, territory and wines of Alexis Leconte (A. Leconte).
Champagne house in the Vallée de la Marne led by Alexis Leconte, focused on biodynamic viticulture, producing expressive wines with a pronounced presence of Pinot Meunier and employing low-intervention winemaking practices.
The estate is a family-run operation with historical roots in the Vallée de la Marne; the family has been involved in viticulture for generations, and Alexis, the central figure of the current project, has reshaped the production approach by prioritizing single-parcel wines and natural farming practices. Production now comes together under the A. Leconte/Alexis label, which emphasizes the identity of the estate’s different soils.
Production philosophy
Based on a trust in nature, the winery applies biodynamic principles and low-intervention winemaking: indigenous yeasts, fermentations in barrels, a variety of tanks and the lunar calendar for some cellar operations, all aimed at preserving the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards spread across the Vallée de la Marne, with parcels in communes such as Troissy and Vandières and within the Grand Cru area of Aÿ; soils vary and include marls, silts and limestone beds typical of the region.
