Winery history L'Oratoire des Papes

The estate’s history dates to 1880, when Édouard Amouroux inherited a vineyard parcel with an oratory dedicated to Saint Mark. L’Oratoire des Papes was founded in 1926 by Léonce Amouroux. Ogier acquired the estate in 2013.

Production philosophy

The estate seeks to express the terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape by adapting tradition and working carefully in the vineyard and cellar to make wines combining depth, freshness and finesse.

Terroir and vineyards

The estate is in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in the Vaucluse. The official website describes four terroirs in the appellation: éclats calcaires, galets roulés, safres and grès rouges.
