Casamigos

Casamigos began as a private project by the three partners (George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman) to create a tequila to their own taste; the company was founded in 2013 and subsequently acquired by Diageo in 2017. From a brand born for 'friends' it developed into a global label with an extended range including tequilas and mezcal.

To produce tequilas that are 'easy to drink' and to share moments with friends: the original approach was to create a smooth spirit that did not need to be masked with salt or lime, based on rigorous selection of the piñas and slow, controlled processes.

Production: Jalisco, Mexico (Blue Weber agave). Brand established and developed in the United States.

Casamigos tequilas are made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the state of Jalisco; the piñas are hand-selected, cooked in traditional brick ovens, subjected to extended fermentation and then distilled. The Blanco rests in stainless steel tanks before bottling; aged expressions (Reposado and Añejo) mature in American white oak barrels.

Blanco: rest in stainless steel tanks; Reposado: aging in American white oak barrels for at least 6 months; Añejo: aging in American white oak barrels for at least 12 months. Some expressions (Cristalino) undergo charcoal filtration after aging.
