Marama

The Marama Origins project was launched by Beveland Distillers in 2020 (presentation of the Indonesian version in November 2020) and was later introduced to international markets through distributors and importers in the following months/years.

Beveland's product pages highlight a philosophy centered on exploring local "origins": the use of ingredients and extracts characteristic of the territories (spices and exotic fruits) to create aromatic profiles inspired by their respective regions.

Brand managed by Beveland Distillers (Spain, Girona) that markets expressions with Asian or Oceanic origin (Indonesia, Philippines, Fiji), using rum and raw materials sourced from those territories.

Official and retailer sheets indicate these are rums (or rum-based products) made from molasses and then enriched with natural extracts and local spices. Some descriptions specify blends of origin rums (Indonesia, Philippines, Fiji) to which extracts/infusions of native plants and fruits are added. Multiple sources also note that the references are packaged as spiced/flavored rum (rum-based spirit) rather than as unadulterated rum.

Not always specified at brand level; product sheets report indications such as continuous distillation or use of column/pot still distillates depending on the expressions. In general the base rums are traditionally distilled and then flavored/enriched with extracts.

Commercial descriptions indicate blends that may include aged fractions (e.g. 3–5 years mentioned in some retail sheets); generally maturation in wooden barrels before blending and subsequent aromatization.
