The story
The distillery traces its origins to the Cawdor Estate, founded by Captain William Fraser in 1812. Production received royal recognition in the early decades of the 19th century (the official site reports that the whisky received the Royal Warrant in 1833, earning the title "The King’s Own Whisky").
