Calabria Rosso IGT - Gravello - Magnum - Librandi 2020
VAT incl.
There are those who tell the story, the tradition and the passion with words; Cantina Librandi has chosen to do it through wine. In Cirò, a magnificent corner of Calabria, hard wines are born with a history behind them; this is where Gravello was born, a fictional name that evokes complexity and seriousness on the one hand; and lightness and immediacy on the other: the connection between two poles that best represents the winery's production philosophy.
The harvest takes place in the first ten days of October. Fermentation is in thermo-conditioned steel with 15 days maceration. Aging in wood, for 12 months in Allier barrique and with a stay in the bottle for 6 months before being put on the market.
A wine that in the glass has an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose is intoxicated by the iintense fruity aromas of red fruits and undergrowth, from black currant to ripe cherry, followed by delicate sweet aromas of dried figs and notes of chocolate. An elegant and structured red, which combines Calabrian terroir and international character, able to surprise until the last sip.
This wine, which was born in the late 1980s and became, from the very first moment, the flagship of the company and emblem of Calabria, on the palate it shows a soft and moderately warm sip, with hints of red fruits that make, on the table, an excellent combination with dishes based on meat, game, roasts and aged cheeses.
