The Bin 169 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon by Penfolds is a refined example of cabernet sauvignon from the renowned region of Coonawarra, Australia. This wine is known for its complex aromatic profile and its elegant structure.

With a deep and vibrant color, the Bin 169 offers a rich bouquet of ripe berry aromas, such as blackberries and cassis, perfectly integrated with nuances of tobacco leaves and subtle touches of chocolate and vanilla, a result of careful aging in French oak barrels.

On the palate, the wine stands out for its impeccable balance between acidity and smooth tannins, making it an ideal candidate for aging. The notes of ripe fruit merge with hints of sweet spices and a light mineral aftertaste, culminating in a long and persistently elegant finish.

Esteemed for its varietal purity and its earthy expression, Bin 169 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent choice to accompany rich dishes like red meat roasts, game-based dishes, or aged cheeses. A wine that enchants cabernet sauvignon lovers in search of a superlative tasting experience.

Winery history
Penfolds was founded in Magill when Christopher and Mary Penfold planted the first vines in 1844. Over the decades the winery grew from local production of fortified and table wines to an international presence, with key moments such as the arrival of Max Schubert and the experimentation that led to the creation of the famous Grange in the 1950s. Today Penfolds combines tradition and innovation, continuing to nurture historic vineyards and select fruit from many regions for its flagship wines.
Production philosophy
The company's approach combines technical rigor and creativity: Penfolds prioritizes the pursuit of the "house style" through site selection, cellar experimentation and a vision that brings together science and craftsmanship to produce age-worthy, distinctive wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Historic headquarters in Magill, with sourcing from many Australian wine regions including Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Eden Valley, Clare Valley, Wrattonbully and also cooler areas such as Tasmania. Penfolds also has international projects and fruit sources, for example Napa Valley in the United States.
