The essence of French sophistication and elegance is fully reflected in the Totem Extra Brut Champagne produced by the renowned Alexis winery. This champagne is a true symbol of luxury and refinement, ideal for special occasions or as a distinctive gift.

Produced using a rigorous selection of grapes, predominantly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the cuvée stands out for its extra brut production method, which involves a very low addition of sugar in the final dosage. This detail gives the Totem a very dry and intensely pure character, enhancing the natural qualities of the terroir and the grapes used.

Visually, the champagne displays a light, bright, and enticing straw-yellow color, with fine and persistent bubbles that dance in the glass, promising a unique sensory experience. On the nose, it opens with refined aromas of citrus, white flowers, and mineral notes that intertwine with elegance. A slight hint of yeast further enriches the bouquet, bearing witness to the long maturation in the cellar.

On the palate, the Totem Extra Brut surprises with its lively acidity balanced by a robust structure and a long persistent finish that leaves traces of complexity, with touches of green apple, biscuit, and a subtle streak of salinity that cleanses the palate.

Perfect as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with sophisticated appetizers, seafood dishes, or simply enjoyed alone to celebrate unforgettable moments. Store in a cool, dark environment to maintain all its qualities. Each sip of this champagne is a tribute to the artisanal craftsmanship of Alexis and the historic tradition of champagne.

Biodynamic approach and certified/organic farming undergoing recent conversion. Strong presence of Pinot Meunier across the range. Around 40 vineyard parcels spread across fragmented holdings Winemaking in various vessels and the use of indigenous yeasts. Wines produced primarily as Champagne, with some Coteaux Champenois offerings.
Winery history
The estate is a family-run operation with historical roots in the Vallée de la Marne; the family has been involved in viticulture for generations, and Alexis, the central figure of the current project, has reshaped the production approach by prioritizing single-parcel wines and natural farming practices. Production now comes together under the A. Leconte/Alexis label, which emphasizes the identity of the estate’s different soils.
Production philosophy
Based on a trust in nature, the winery applies biodynamic principles and low-intervention winemaking: indigenous yeasts, fermentations in barrels, a variety of tanks and the lunar calendar for some cellar operations, all aimed at preserving the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards spread across the Vallée de la Marne, with parcels in communes such as Troissy and Vandières and within the Grand Cru area of Aÿ; soils vary and include marls, silts and limestone beds typical of the region.
