The Kilchoman Machir Bay Whisky is an extraordinary expression of the savoir-faire of the Kilchoman distillery, known for being one of the few remaining independent malt distilleries on Islay, the famous Scottish island renowned for its peated whiskies. This whisky is named after the beautiful beach of Machir Bay, located near the distillery.

Produced with a mix of whiskies matured in ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, Machir Bay offers an impeccable balance of sweetness and characteristic smoky notes. On the nose, intense smoky peat aromas are liberated, mixed with sweet hints of vanilla and dried fruit. On the palate, the tasting profile consists of a complex blend of chocolate, cinnamon, and a persistent peatiness that delicately fades into a long and satisfying finish, with traces of spices and citrus.

Distillation

Ageing

Maturation in various casks; Kilchoman uses a combination of bourbon and sherry as primary casks and also fills special casks for finishes or full maturations. The company site indicates a minimum warehouse period (minimum 1,130 days for some maturation stages).
