The Coteaux du Loir Rouge "Hommage à Louis Derré" from Domaine de Bellivière is a red wine that pays tribute to the tradition and winemaking expertise of the Loire. Produced with carefully selected grapes, this wine expresses a refined balance between intensity and finesse. On the nose, it stands out for its aromatic notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and a slight hint of damp earth, typical of this region. On the palate, the attack is vigorous, with a well-integrated tannic structure that evolves into a long and persistent finish. The tannins, although present, are soft and well-rounded, making this wine pleasantly vibrant and complex. An ideal pairing would be with red meat dishes, game, or aged cheeses. This wine not only represents an excellent example of Coteaux du Loir Rouge but also serves as a tribute to the craftsmanship of Louis Derré, fully expressing the typicity and elegance of the terroir.

Winery history
Created by Éric and Christine Nicolas in 1995, the estate developed across numerous parcels between Jasnières and Coteaux du Loir; the family-run operation is now carried on by Clément and Laure-Anne Nicolas. In 2016 they also launched a commercial venture called “Les Arches” to address climatic and market challenges.
Production philosophy

Terroir and vineyards
Located in Lhomme, in the Sarthe department, the estate tends the vineyards of the AOC Jasnières and Coteaux du Loir; the soils include tuffeau and other formations that influence the wines' acidity and minerality.
