More questions

Il Pareto Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana IGT 1987 from Tenuta di Nozzole by Folonari is a vintage wine presented in a magnum and packed in a wooden case. It is an example that has undergone more than thirty years of evolution and is aimed at collectors or special occasions. The label and format emphasize its origin as a product of the Toscana IGT designation, and the wooden case packaging eases transport and presentation.

In the glass it appears as a mature, evolved wine: its structure and tannins are softened compared with a young example, and the aromas have developed tertiary notes typical of long storage. For tasting, use a large glass, serve at a moderate temperature, and pair it with red meat dishes, mildly seasoned game birds, or aged cheeses. Check the bottle condition before serving and handle with care given the age.

The story
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognition
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
