Crissante Alessandria’s Langhe Nebbiolo DOC is produced in La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe, from east-facing vineyards located at approximately 250 metres above sea level. The clay and calcareous soils, with exposed marl, enhance the elegance and freshness of the Nebbiolo grape. Harvesting is carried out by hand during the first week of October.
Fermentation lasts approximately ten days in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with daily pump-overs, followed immediately by malolactic fermentation. The wine matures for six months in large casks, then completes its refinement with a further six months in bottle in the underground cellar. It has a bright ruby-red colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet shows red fruit, raspberry, apricot and cherry, enriched by delicate violet notes. On the palate, it is warm, delicately dry and well balanced, with pleasant tannins, good body and a lingering cherry finish. This versatile Nebbiolo pairs well with starters, first courses, meat-based main courses, and fresh or moderately aged cheeses.
