More questions

The Mercurey Rouge 1er Cru Les Combins from Domaine Theulot Juillot is a red wine that embodies the refinement and essence of Burgundy. Originating from the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, this label demonstrates a deep commitment to the selection of Pinot Noir grapes, cultivated on clay-limestone soils that impart extraordinary complexity to the wine. The winemaking process is attentively guided by tradition, using methods that enhance the pure expression of the terroir.

On the nose, the Mercurey Rouge 1er Cru Les Combins reveals intense aromas of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and strawberries, enriched by spicy nuances of black pepper and a delicate touch of vanilla, due to aging in barrels. On the palate, the wine presents a medium body with a well-balanced structure; silky tannins accompany a long and pleasant aromatic persistence.

Ideal for pairing with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses, this wine is an authentic expression of its terroir, capable of evolving magnificently over the years. An excellent choice for those wishing to explore the depth and elegance of Mercurey wines.

The story
According to the official website, the domaine was established at the beginning of the century by the Juillot family. Management passed down the female line: the granddaughter, Nathalie Theulot, took over following the handover in 1987. Over time the property has consolidated vineyards in the commune of Mercurey and developed a range of local Premier Crus.
Production philosophy
The estate states an approach focused on the quality of the raw material: strict yield management, elimination of herbicides, moderate pruning, crop thinning and hand-harvesting with selection. In the cellar they favor low-intervention practices to enhance the expression of the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
The domaine is based in the commune of Mercurey. Its vineyards cover several parcels on limestone and clay slopes, and the domaine vinifies numerous Mercurey crus. It also produces wines labeled Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise and a Crémant blanc de noir made from Pinot Noir.
