The Merlot Friuli Isonzo Rive Alte DOC from Ronco del Gelso, offered in magnum format, shows an elegant and restrained profile, typical of the variety in the context of the Rive Alte. Visually it offers a medium-intensity ruby red; on the nose there are notes of ripe red fruit, light herbal nuances and hints of sweet spice. On the palate it is soft and compact, with polished tannins and good persistence that accompanies a saline, pleasant finish. The balance between body and freshness makes it suitable for relatively early drinking while able to accompany more attentive moments.

It pairs naturally with white and light red meats, roasts, mushroom dishes and medium-aged cheeses; try it with pasta in ragù or dishes from Friulian regional cuisine. Serve around 16–18 °C in a slightly wide decanter to highlight its aromatic profile, especially if opening a magnum for several guests. The magnum bottle is ideal for convivial occasions and for those seeking a presence that lasts longer through the evening.
