Pairing Red meats, cured meats, aged cheeses
Montefiore Sangiovese di Romagna DOC from I Muretti presents a direct, honest profile: in the glass it offers fresh red fruit—cherry and raspberry—alongside light floral notes and a hint of black pepper. The impression is of immediate drinkability, with a medium body and a balance that favors freshness and savory character rather than power; the tannins are present but well integrated, giving structure without weighing it down. The texture is straightforward but with a slight complexity that emerges as the glass opens: delicate earthy tones and a background of aromatic herbs complete the picture.

On the palate it confirms the aromatic promise—smooth and vibrant—with a clean progression that leaves room for a delicate fruity finish. It’s a versatile wine: it pairs well with cured meats, ragù pasta, pizza and not-too-structured meat mains, as well as medium-aged cheeses; it’s also enjoyable on its own as an everyday wine. Serve lightly chilled, around 14-16 °C, to enhance its drinkability; the simplicity of the sip invites frequent, convivial pours.

Discover the story and wines of I Muretti.

A farm and agritourism estate in Montescudo-Monte Colombo (Rimini) producing artisan wines and operating a shop, restaurant and guest rooms, with attention to respectful agricultural practices and spontaneous fermentations.
Region: Emilia-Romagna
Country: Italia
Grapes: Sangiovese, Rebola (Grechetto gentile), Famoso, Trebbiano
Produced using spontaneous fermentations and non-chemical agricultural practices. Located in Valconca, with a strong territorial identity linked to the Adriatic Sea. Multifunctional estate: wines, agritourism, restaurant and farm shop. Distinctive wine ranges: Complice and Lulone, Libera and Almadira.
Winery history
Family-run, the estate began as a small farm and agritourism business. The founding partners have gradually developed the wine production while maintaining simple, hands-on methods, from hand-harvested grapes to winemaking using traditional, natural techniques.
Production philosophy
Respectful cultivation of soil and vines, hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, and the use of technology only when necessary: the aim is to let the wines express vintage, terroir and time.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the hills of Valconca, on moderately clayey soils, and are strongly influenced by the nearby Adriatic Sea, which shapes the wines' aromatic profile.
