The story
Production has historical roots in Castelnuovo Don Bosco; ownership of the distillery dates back to the late 19th century and the Quaglia family has managed the business for generations. During the 20th century the company expanded its range and market, gradually introducing fruit liqueurs, alcohol‑macerated infusions and a line of single‑varietal grappe. In recent years Tenuta Sussambrino has been developed for the direct cultivation of aromatic botanicals.
Distillation
Traditional direct‑steam distillation for grappa; prolonged infusions/macerations in alcohol for liqueurs; processing of botanicals cultivated at Tenuta Sussambrino for the gin lines.
Ageing
Some grappe are aged in casks; distillates and liqueurs undergo rest periods in tanks to harmonize the product.
