The Montebello V.Agricole Rhum 8Y 2001 is a refined expression of the Antillean spirit, originating from the historic distillery of Guadeloupe. Distilled in 2001 and aged for eight years in oak barrels, this agricultural rum showcases a distinctive character, due to the fermentation of pure fresh sugar cane juice, rather than molasses, a typical method of agricultural rums.
The palate is welcoming with notes of toasted caramel, vanilla, and mild spices, masterfully integrated with wood accents and a touch of ripe tropical fruit. The finish is long and pleasantly complex, leaving a lingering taste of dried fruit with a slight hint of tobacco and leather.
This rum is an excellent specimen for connoisseurs, offering a tasting experience that is rich and deeply layered. It is ideal for sipping neat, to best appreciate its complexity, or as a sophisticated base for high-class cocktails. A true gem for lovers of superior quality rum.

Distillation
Column distillation for the agricole expressions (column still).
Ageing
Aging in oak barrels (ex‑Bourbon and ex‑Cognac); some expressions are offered as 'brut de fût' (bottled at cask/barrel strength). Barrels are sometimes placed in metal containers to enhance aromatic extraction in a tropical climate, following local practices.
