This Auchentoshan 2015, bottled by Douglas Laing in the Provenance line and presented in a gift box, shows a typical Lowland profile but with youthful concreteness: on the nose it is delicate but clean, evoking citrus zest, green apple and a light vanilla sweetness. The character remains elegant and refreshingly bright, with a well-measured alcohol presence that doesn’t overpower the delicate notes; the palate is easy-going, of slender body, with a texture that favors clarity and gentle softness rather than power.

On the palate it confirms a pleasant combination of fruit and light caramel, supported by a subtle salinity that invites another sip. The finish is clean and sufficiently lingering to leave citrus memories and a slight dryness that cleanses the palate. It’s best enjoyed neat or with a small drop of water to open up its profile; pairs well with seafood starters, sushi or fresh cheeses, and is an elegant choice as a gift or for those looking for a Lowland single malt with delicate tones.
