The story
Founded in 1935 by the Shapira brothers and a group of local investors, Heaven Hill grew from a single barrel operation to a large production and commercial presence in the spirits world. The company overcame significant events (including a devastating fire in 1996) and expanded its portfolio through acquisitions and new brands; in 1999 it acquired the Bernheim site in Louisville and over the years developed visitor centers such as the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience. In 2025 it resumed production in its original area with the new Heaven Hill Springs Distillery in Bardstown.
