Laphroaig 2015 Tawny Port Finish presents the meeting of Islay's rugged identity and a surprising sweetness from tawny port maturation. Distilled in 2015 and aged for ten years, it retains the distillery's signature peatiness and iodine character: notes of smoke, saline seaweed and a medicinal touch that does not overpower. The passage through casks that previously held Tawny Port brings a subtle weave of ripe red fruit, dried figs and an amber sweetness that softens the smoky edge, creating a new but recognizable balance.

On the palate it's enveloping, with a full-bodied structure and a warm roundness that enhances the salinity and lingering smoky notes. The finish plays on contrasts: light tannins, hints of caramel and a saline return that leaves the palate clean and lingering. It is well suited to be enjoyed neat to appreciate its evolution, but it also finds interesting pairings with dark chocolate, aged cheeses or smoked meats.
