The La Crotta di Vegneron Cooperative was founded in 1980 when a group of winemakers had the ability to see in viticulture the means to recover slopes which, after years of neglect, risked becoming dangerous for human settlements and decidedly unwelcoming for tourists. 

Thus we find, in the action of the Cooperative, a dichotomous utility: on the one hand the economic enhancement of marginal land for farming and fruit growing, on the other an action to ensure hydrogeological safety of our slopes. 

The Cooperative collects the grapes of two important production areas that give their name to the denominations of origin Chambave and Nus. The wines and grappas of La Crotta di Vegneron strongly express the spirit of the Valle d'Aosta mountains, thanks to native or traditional vines, cultivated with pride and ability. The vinifications are respectful of a unique terroir characterized by a thousand variations.

Ours is first of all a story of men deeply rooted in this wonderful Alpine region, of generations of skilled "Viticulteurs" who have always been committed to obtaining the highest quality from our vines. The Crotta di Vegneron continues the ancestral tradition of the "campagnards", seeking its strength in the ancient relationship between native vines and the territory.
