Tenuta Valdipiatta winery

The Valdipiatta estate is located in Tuscany in the Poliziano area, a family-run business that has always been established in the 1960s, but was purchased by Giulio Caporali only in the 1980s.

The estate has 22 hectares of vineyards distributed between 300 and 350 meters above sea level. and is one of the historic producers of Vino Nobile. Since he was a boy, Giulio has had a dream, that of escaping the hustle and bustle of the capital to live in peace in the Tuscan countryside. The first intent was to produce primarily for the family, in fact he dedicated himself to the production of oil, wine and other fruits of the earth, and at the end of the day he applied himself to his beloved studies of literature and history. Since 2002, his daughter Miriam took over the management of the Valdipiatta Estate and, like her father, studied at the University of Rome and enology at the prestigious Bordeaux school.

Father and daughter are a perfect team! Giulio has been able to combine in the best way the activity of winemaker with the study of history and literature, and has thoroughly documented the origins of Vino Nobile and Montepulciano; he also translated from Latin the medieval statutes for the production and trade of local wine.

For her part, Miriam has dedicated a lot to her study and work by making a choice of life, choosing right from the start to make the most of the terroir of Montepulciano and the precious native vines, respecting sustainable viticulture.
