Yarden, whose name derives from the Hebrew translation of the Jordan River, is the flagship company of the Golan Heights Winery group; the latter is based in Galilee, in the city of Katzrin. Golan Heights Winery, whose brands in addition to Yarden are Golan, Gamla and Hermon, immediately distinguished itself for the production of kosher wines, i.e. wines authorized by rabbis and therefore drinkable also by Orthodox Jews, of great value, produced mostly on volcanic soils.

A company strongly linked to tradition, whose labels depict the oil lamp symbol of the ancient state of Israel. The first vineyard was planted in 1976, while the cellar was built in 1983 by the will of four kibbutzis (collectivist village) and as many moshavim (cooperative communities).

Yarden today represents a source of pride for Israel, it is in fact a renowned and internationally appreciated winery for its fine wines produced from a unique and rich in properties terroir. The first wine produced under the Yarden brand was Sauvignon Blanc in 1984.
