Winery history Cantine del Notaio

Winemaking passion runs in the Giuratrabocchetti family for generations. In 1998 Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti and his wife Marcella officially established Cantine del Notaio to promote the family vineyards and Aglianico del Vulture.

Production philosophy

Their philosophy is to enhance Aglianico del Vulture by combining tradition and innovation: nature-friendly viticulture, oenological research (including with Prof. Luigi Moio) and ageing in tufaceous caves and French oak barrels/barriques.

Terroir and vineyards

Based in Rionero in Vulture (Monte Vulture), Basilicata. About 52 hectares spread across typical Vulture sites (Rionero, Barile, Ripacandida, Maschito, Ginestra); volcanic soils with tufaceous layers; some century-old vines.
