Winery history Château Picoron

The site and local archives record traces of vineyards in the Sainte-Colombe area dating back to the Gallo-Roman era, with written references from the 18th century. The property, formerly associated with Philippe Bardet, was purchased in 2015 by Australians Glenda and Frank Kalyk, who relaunched the operation with a focus on local production and hospitality.

Production philosophy

Low-intervention production based on single-parcel vinifications: the winery states it follows a philosophy described as «Ouvipo», meaning self‑imposed rules and constraints to enhance Merlot and the terroir.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyard is located in Sainte-Colombe, on a clay‑limestone ridge associated with the Saint-Émilion / Castillon‑Côtes‑de‑Bordeaux terroir. The soils are described as clay‑limestone.
