Winery history Còlpetrone

Còlpetrone is part of the Tenute del Cerro project and, according to sources, developed from the late 20th century. Initial winemaking took place in the old farmhouse known as “Còlpetrone vecchia”; the modern winery, built into the hillside to control temperature and humidity, was inaugurated later. Several commercial and institutional profiles report 1995 as the year the winery began operating in its current form.

Production philosophy

The winery focuses on vineyard selection and on enhancing native Sagrantino, pursuing high-quality standards and a production approach that combines modern technologies with respect for the land.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards located on the hills between Gualdo Cattaneo and Montefalco. The area is typical for the production of Sagrantino di Montefalco, with favourable exposures and soils that promote the ripening of the grapes.
