Winery history Domaine J.Laurens

The estate was established in the 1980s by a winemaker from Champagne who recognized the potential of Limoux's terroirs. In 2002 the property was relaunched and modernised under the direction of Jacques Calvel; since then the winery has expanded its facilities and developed exports while maintaining a focus on producing sparkling wines using the traditional method.

Production philosophy

Strong focus on quality over quantity; exclusive production of sparkling wines using the traditional method and enhancement of the Limoux terroir through viticultural and winemaking practices designed to express freshness and finesse.

Terroir and vineyards

Located near the village of La Digne-d'Aval, a few kilometres from Limoux and the Cittadella di Carcassonne, the estate cultivates vineyards on a terroir characterised by clay-limestone soils and a microclimate combining Mediterranean and oceanic influences. Its production highlights the typical qualities of the Limoux appellation. The winery's website reports that the estate covers more than 50 hectares.
