Winery history Isole e Olena

The name comes from the union of two neighboring villages, Isole and Olena. The estate was acquired by the De Marchi family in the 1950s and saw modern development under Paolo De Marchi from the late 1970s. The estate introduced Cepparello in 1980 and has produced Chianti Classico since 1969; in 2022 the property was acquired by the EPI group.

Production philosophy

An artisanal, terroir-focused approach: manual vineyard care, restoration of terraces and practices aimed at enhancing the terroir, with cellar techniques designed to achieve balance, elegance and longevity in the wines.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in the UGA area of San Donato in Poggio, in the heart of Chianti Classico and halfway between Florence and Siena, the estate includes the hamlets of Isole e Olena and its production facilities overlook the Elsa Valley.
