Winery La Lastra

La Lastra was established as a winemaking project by Renato Spanu and Nadia Betti; various company sources and specialized catalogues place the start of operations in the mid-1990s, a development that led the estate to establish vineyards and a small agriturismo associated with its production.

The estate states it follows a sustainability-oriented, organic approach to viticulture: it grows and vinifies only grapes from its own vineyards and, according to its official website, uses organic methods to enhance the expression of the terroir.

The vineyards are distributed among the hills surrounding San Gimignano and in parcels close to Siena's historic center. The soils are described as Pliocene, medium-textured with calcareous sand, typical of the area.
