Winery history Le Cimate

The estate has been linked to the Bartoloni family for generations; the project for a modern winery was carried out by the family and the facility was opened in 2011. The estate formerly belonged to the Episcopal Curia and, after subsequent acquisitions, became the center of the family's winemaking activities, which have promoted both indigenous grape varieties and experimentation with international varieties.

Production philosophy

An approach that combines modern cellar technologies with a focus on quality from the vineyards to the bottle, with particular care for local whites and the controlled ageing of the reds. The winery promotes wine tourism and has invested in the energy efficiency and sustainability of its facilities.

Terroir and vineyards

Located on the hills of Montefalco, the winery sits in a hilly setting overlooking the Monti Martani. The area is ideally suited to Sagrantino and other Umbrian varieties such as Trebbiano Spoletino.

Awards and recognitions

Awards and recognition: the rosé 'Saudade' was named among the best at a national wine competition; the wines have received positive reviews in specialist publications and platforms.
