Winery history Cantina Mito

The winery was founded through the partnership of the Palmieri and Della Vecchia families and through work on the vineyards of Contrada Mito in Nusco. The project was launched in 2013 by brothers Gerardo and Soccorso Palmieri together with Michele Della Vecchia. Collaboration with oenologist Riccardo Cotarella guided the creation of the first wines, including Taurasi "Amato" and Aglianico "Dunsogno". Over the years the wines have been introduced to the market and have received specialist recognition.

Production philosophy

To enhance the Irpinia region and its native grape varieties through a terroir-driven production style, focusing on stylistic quality and the agronomic care of the family vineyards.

Terroir and vineyards

Irpinia — a high-altitude area in the Apennines where Aglianico, Fiano, Greco di Tufo and Falanghina are grown.

Awards and recognitions

Ratings and mentions from specialist guides: Luca Maroni has awarded high scores to some wines, and Amato has been included in the selection of the 100 Best Wines of Italy by the same source.
