Winery history Nittardi

The estate is already mentioned in 1183 under the toponym "Nectar Dei" and in the 16th century became part of the holdings of Michelangelo Buonarroti, who sent wine to the Pope. In the 1980s the property was acquired by the Canali–Femfert family, who began the revival of the historic estate in Chianti and, in the late 1990s, expanded operations by acquiring vineyards in Maremma; management of the second generation has been entrusted to Léon Femfert.

Production philosophy

There is a strong connection between winemaking and art, with a focus on vineyard quality and a gradual transition to organic practices and sustainability certifications.

Terroir and vineyards

The winery is located between Castellina in Chianti and Panzano, in the province of Siena, with vineyards in the Chianti Classico and an estate in the Maremma where the Super Tuscans Ad Astra and Nectar Dei are produced.
