Winery history Louis Roederer

The house dates back to the 18th century and took the name of its heir, Louis Roederer, in the 19th century; it became internationally renowned and in 1876 created its flagship cuvée, Cristal, at the request of Tsar Alexander II. Over time the Maison has expanded its vineyard holdings and consolidated a production model based on a significant proportion of estate-grown grapes and extended cellar ageing.

Production philosophy

Strong focus on grape control, parcel-based vinification and enhancement of the terroir; in recent years the estate has pursued low environmental impact practices, converting to organic farming and placing portions of its vineyards under biodynamic management, as well as maturation techniques aimed at preserving freshness and terroir expression.

Terroir and vineyards

Headquarters and cellars in Reims; vineyards spread across the main Champagne areas, particularly Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs, with integrated sourcing from selected suppliers.
