Winery history Trénel

La Maison Trénel was founded in 1928 and developed as a négociant and producer of wines from the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, alongside artisanal production of fruit creams and distillates. In 2015 the property became part of the M. Chapoutier portfolio, which renewed focus on the quality of the Maison’s winemaking and the terroirs it works.

Production philosophy

The estate favors the authentic expression of fruit and terroir: it sources selected grapes, employs focused winemaking, and emphasizes regional typicity rather than overly technical styles. It also maintains a tradition of artisanal fruit liqueurs from Burgundy.

Terroir and vineyards

Based in Charnay-lès-Mâcon, it operates primarily in the Mâconnais and in areas of the Beaujolais. Some technical sheets indicate siliciclastic/clayey soils and east- to south-facing exposures for specific vineyards used for the Beaujolais Villages.
