Winery history Vignobles Leydet

The estate is a family-run Libourne property with roots documented as far back as 1862. In the 20th century the family expanded and consolidated its holdings; from the 1960s Bernard Leydet began bottling the wine for commercial sale, and later Frédéric Leydet joined the management, modernizing cellar practices while maintaining a strong continuity with the region’s tradition. The name Château Leydet-Valentin first appears in records from the 1980s.

Production philosophy

An approach that blends traditional practices with modern cellar interventions, focusing on fruit quality and sustainable vineyard management. The vineyards managed by Vignobles Leydet are noted in sources as having been farmed organically in recent vintages.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards located on the right bank of the Gironde, in the area between Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. The land is characterized by clay-limestone and gravel soils typical of the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and Pomerol appellations, with prestigious neighbors such as Cheval Blanc and Figeac.
