Mazzetti d'Altavilla distillery

Mazzetti d'Altavilla is a historic Piedmontese distillery with very ancient origins that produces a wide range of high quality gins, grappas and liqueurs.

The Mazzetti family began its production in 1846, founding a small grappa distillery in Montemagno in Monferrato. A perfect location has allowed the supply of raw material in abundance and of excellent quality, given the presence of various estates and cellars in the area, in addition to Monferrato, also in the Canavese, Langhe and Roero areas.

At the beginning of the 1900s the distillery moved to Altavilla Monferrato, to larger premises. 170 years have passed, today the Mazzetti d'Altavilla Distillery is managed by Cesare, Nicoletta and Giorgio, in the sixth generation, who have carried on the ancient family traditions with love and wisdom.

The vines historically present in the area are grown on the gentle hills of Monferrato, such as Moscato Bianco, Barbera, Dolcetto and Brachetto. The best selected marcs are taken immediately after fermentation, transferred while still fresh to the distillery, they are rich in perfumes and aromas. The processing is carried out in the shortest possible time, with a distillation process with steam copper stills with a discontinuous method. The processing is carried out very carefully, this allows to obtain particular distillates of extraordinary expressive purity.

The distillates are often aged in wood, this allows us to obtain grappas with an extremely soft and persuasive profile with a truly complex and rich taste.
