The story
The project originated from the founders' desire to revive sugarcane cultivation in the Modica area; the plantation began in 2021 and the initiative is presented as a return to the local supply chain covering cultivation, distillation and bottling. The commercial brand is Mater.
Production philosophy
A terroir-driven, artisanal approach: enhancing the local raw material (sugarcane), small-batch production and communicating the connection with southeastern Sicily.

Southeastern Sicily, Modica area (Sampieri / Marina di Modica).
Production method
Small-batch production using fresh sugarcane juice to express characteristics typical of agricultural rum; local cultivation of sugarcane and distillation/bottling in Sicily.
Ageing
Some expressions are reported to have been aged for several months in oak barrels.
