The name Amahagan comes from 'Nagahama' spelled backwards and is the blended/World Malt series developed by Nagahama Distillery (associated with Nagahama Roman Beer). The distillery began operations in 2016 and later launched the Amahagan line as an experimental blending platform, combining locally distilled whiskies with imported components to create finished expressions without coloring or chill filtration.

Production philosophy

Amahagan was created as a blending project: to showcase the malt produced in Nagahama by marrying it with selected foreign malts and exploring different wood finishes to express distinct aromatic profiles.
