Producer history Citadelle
Citadelle was launched in 1996 by Alexandre Gabriel as a gin project within the Maison Ferrand portfolio. The gin was developed at Château de Bonbonnet, near Cognac, where the experience and traditional stills used for cognac were leveraged to create a range of craft gins. Over time the brand has become an international reference in the premium gin segment and has developed several expressions (Original, Reserve, Old Tom, Jardin d'Été, Rouge, etc.).
Production philosophy
French artisanal production: 100% natural ingredients, careful attention to botanicals and to the infusion process to extract balanced aromatic profiles. The philosophy combines tradition (use of charentais stills) and experimentation to produce expressions suited for both tasting and cocktails.
Territory
Château de Bonbonnet, near the city of Cognac (department of Charente), in southwestern France.
