Producer history Drambuie

According to the official account, the recipe has legendary origins linked to Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) in 1745; the drink was later commercialized more widely between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Drambuie Liquor Company was established in the early 20th century and the brand remained under the management of the MacKinnon family for more than a century. In 2014 the brand and the recipe were acquired by William Grant & Sons, which has maintained the blending and distribution.
