Distillation and production

Production method

Botanical families are macerated separately in neutral grape alcohol, distilled individually and then blended. The vine blossom is hand-picked for a few days in June, infused in grape eau-de-vie and distilled using specific equipment (the 'Flo' still for blossom infusion; the 'Lily-Fleur' still for the final distillation). The result combines plant and spice distillates with the extract of the vine blossom.

Distillation

Separate maceration of botanical families in grape alcohol, individual distillation of aromatic distillates and blending; infusion of the vine blossom in eau-de-vie and final double distillation of the assembled wash in the 'Lily-Fleur' still (the blossom also passes through a Florentine 'Flo' still).

Ageing

Generally gins are not aged; however there are special expressions (e.g. Nouaison Réserve) that undergo finishing in Cognac casks.

Producer history G'Vine

G'Vine was conceived by Jean-Sébastien Robicquet and launched in 2006 within Maison Villevert, a producer group based in Villevert (Merpins) in the Cognac area. The project leveraged local viticultural and distilling expertise to create a 'gin de France' based on grape eau-de-vie and the use of the vine blossom as a distinctive botanical. Over the years the range expanded to include bartending-oriented variants, a line of flavored liqueurs (June) and reserve editions matured in Cognac casks.

Production philosophy

To pursue an unconventional gin that blends the wine heritage and distillation tradition of the Cognac region with the aromatic approach of perfumers: to highlight rare ingredients (the vine blossom) and a grape-based spirit to achieve roundness and a distinctive floral profile, while maintaining attention to quality and French elegance.

Territory

Produced at Maison Villevert, in the territory of Villevert / Merpins, in the historic Cognac area, France (Charente department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region).
