Production method

Gamondi products are made through botanical infusions/macerations and wine-based preparations (for the vermouths). The Amaro is described as being obtained from 29 herbs and roots macerated in two separate infusions; the vermouths are produced by infusing botanicals into a mélange of Piedmontese wines (in the Superiore versions the blend contains 51% Moscato d'Asti DOCG).

Producer history Gamondi

The Gamondi brand was born in Acqui Terme from the work of herbalist Carlo Gamondi; the reference recipes date back to the late 19th century (circa 1890). In recent years the brand was relaunched and reorganized under Casa Toso (Toso S.p.A.), which recovered the original recipes and integrated them into its portfolio of wines, sparkling wines and aperitifs.

Production philosophy

Reconcile heritage and practicality for contemporary mixing: recover historic herbalist recipes from Acqui Terme while respecting their territorial identity, with an approach tailored to bartenders and bar professionals.

Territory

Piedmont — historical origin in Acqui Terme; current management and production entrusted to Casa Toso, based in Cossano Belbo (CN).

Awards and recognitions

Among disclosed recognitions: scores in the Falstaff Spirits Special 2024 selection (for example Vermouth di Torino Superiore Rosso rated 95 points); product sheets and communications also report international awards (e.g. ISW / IWSC in various years) for some products.
