Hernö was born from the idea and passion of Jon Hillgren, who after years of study and visits to distilleries abroad founded the company in 2011. The production site is a farm/rustic property in the Dala area near Härnösand, in the region known as the High Coast (Höga Kusten). From its inception Hernö focused on dedicated gin production, becoming one of the first examples of a gin-specialized distillery in Sweden.
