Production method
Longrow expressions use barley malt dried over peat fires according to the local traditional process; production takes place entirely on the Springbank site, which retains many artisanal methods (including on-site malt handling). Longrow is characterised by double distillation and ageing in various combinations of casks, sometimes with finishes in red wine barriques.

Producer history Longrow
Longrow was first distilled at Springbank in 1973 to supply a more peated, robust component for blends under development at the time. After years of intermittent production, the range became a permanent part of the distillery's calendar from the late 20th century and is now one of the site's three signature expressions (alongside Springbank and Hazelburn).
Production philosophy
The Longrow range reflects Springbank's artisanal approach: full control of production stages on the same site, use of traditionally processed and dried malt, and experimentation with cask influence to create peated yet balanced expressions.
