Distillation and production

Production method

Production is based on gentle maceration of the individual botanicals and on independent distillation intended to express separately the character of each ingredient. Distillation takes place in a small facility equipped with a customized copper still at the production site.

Producer history Mare

The Gin Mare brand was created in 2010 through a collaboration between the Giró family of MG Destilerías and the entrepreneurs of Vantguard. Production was developed at MG Destilerías in Vilanova i la Geltrú, Catalonia. In 2022 the U.S. group Brown-Forman announced and completed the acquisition of the Gin Mare and Gin Mare Capri brands, maintaining production at MG Destilerías.

The project aims to 'distill the Mediterranean': to highlight aromas, flavors and ingredients typical of the Mediterranean region to produce gins with a strong territorial identity, emphasizing freshness and herbaceous and saline notes.
