Production method

Small-batch artisanal production; sugar extraction using tahona and roller mill; controlled distillation and bottling at Hacienda Patrón (NOM 1492). Some expressions are aged in used and mixed oak casks (American, French, Hungarian).

Distillation

Small-batch distillation; combined use of tahona (traditional stone mill) and roller mill to extract sugars from the agave.

Ageing

Aged expressions (reposado, añejo, extra‑añejo) mature in wooden barrels; PATRÓN indicates a minimum of 4 months for some reposado and 12+ months for añejo depending on the expression. Some editions are finished in specific casks (e.g. sherry cask) for particular finishes.

Producer history PATRÓN

The PATRÓN brand was launched in the late 1980s by co-founders Martin Crowley and John Paul DeJoria. Initially PATRÓN tequila was produced in collaboration with traditional distilleries; over time the brand developed its own production facility identified by NOM 1492 (Hacienda Patrón). In 2018 PATRÓN became part of Bacardi Limited through acquisition.
