Founded in 1938 in Vitória de Santo Antão (Pernambuco), Pitú grew from an initial activity producing vinegar and bottling local aguardente to the acquisition of Engenho Arandú do Coito and the direct production of its own aguardente. During the 20th century the brand consolidated in Brazil, began exporting to Europe (including Germany) and progressively expanded the portfolio by introducing aged versions and flavored products. Today the company operates a modern facility and a Visitor Center at its headquarters in Vitória de Santo Antão.
