Production method
Small‑batch production on a dedicated copper still called 'Peggy'. The process uses vapour infusion with the botanicals placed in a basket; the brand employs a grain neutral spirit based on wheat and each batch requires about 5½ hours. The still capacity is indicated at around 500 litres and each run produces the equivalent of roughly 762 bottles; just over 6.5 kg of the eight declared botanicals are used in each batch.
Distillation
Vapour infusion in a copper still ('Peggy'); botanicals are placed in a basket and do not come into direct contact with the liquid during distillation.
Producer history Red Door
Red Door was launched by Gordon & MacPhail in 2018 as a gin brand connected to Benromach Distillery. The name refers to the distinctive red doors of the production site; the project was created to broaden the house's range with an artisanal gin made in the production space adjacent to the distillery.
