Producer history Roots

The Roots label was launched as a line of artisanal liqueurs in the early 2010s by members of a family connected to the historic Callicounis distilling business in Kalamata. Roots releases (including Mastiha/Mastic, Mastic Vintage Strength, Diktamo, Kanela and Rakomelo) originate from a family distilling tradition dating back to 1850 and were introduced to the market from 2013 as reinterpretations of traditional Greek recipes.
