Producer history Silvio Carta

The company is named after its founder Silvio Carta and was established in the early 1950s in Baratili San Pietro (Oristano). Family management continued with Elio Carta (leading since 1972) and the activity expanded to include, alongside Vernaccia di Oristano, a range of liqueurs and spirits. Modern spirits production (gin, aged grappas, vermouth and experimental distillates such as whisky and Vernaccia brandy) was developed with a focus on rediscovering local techniques and using native botanicals; part of production takes place at the Zeddiani (OR) facility.

Production philosophy

To combine tradition and innovation while enhancing the Sardinian territory: use of wild plants and berries from the Mediterranean maquis, respect for maturation times and the search for typical local expressions (e.g. Vernaccia, mirto, gins inspired by the territory).
